The Monks of Winter

6 March 2016 – Striding full-tilt along College St., already anticipating the chamber-music concert awaiting me in Hart House … and found myself stopped flat by this quartet, not of musicians, but of monks.

Peeking out from their hooded burlap habits, faces to the sun, waiting for spring.

"monks" on College St.

Or so it seemed to me.

  2. I was excited to find that The Canadian Opera Company has a free concert series at the Four Seasons Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not that it has much to do with your post.
This was a mild winter, those monks barely needed their robes!

    • You’ve spurred me to action! I’d forgotten about that series, I’ve not noted a few dates in my book. Thanks

  4. Good to see the care of gardeners – hope you enjoyed the Opera – I am off to Barber of Seville performed by the Welsh National and then to Madame Butterfly relayed from Met Opera so I can understand your anticipation
