2 January 2017 – We all need guidelines.

But only a few.

Here are mine …

1. Know your priorities.

Odin café, King St. East

2. Get out & about. By foot, bike or skateboard.

Underpass Park

3. Remember the wise words of Antonio Machado: “Traveller, there is no path …

Corktown Common

Paths are made by walking.”

4. While walking, keep a wary eye out …

  5. Ah, great advice. I love paths and how they meander and yet are always the best way!

Penny… I am once again receiving your ‘Walking Woman’ reports… thanks to Danna, where I have been these past 3 weeks helping to celebrate Christmas and welcoming in the New Year… both in Ottawa and at Overneath… Ty and Louis joined us at Overneath for a few days prior to New Years, and then headed back to Toronto on the train, in reverse of their arrival by train and the ‘fetch and delivery chauffeur’ G.G… last year we were all in Fernie for the holidays… so it was GOOD to be in Ottawa and Overneath this year… Danna will fill you in on all the ‘details’…

I have just arrived ‘home’ again… ‘Right Here in River City’… no parade today, it’s below freezing and getting colder !… the weather in Ottawa and at Overneath was also cold, but I pretty much stayed inside and let the ‘young’ns’ do the outside stuff… I will be 85 on Jan. 24 so I have decided to ‘slow down just a bit’…not too much !

Danna and George are en route to Fernie as I write… the plane from Ottawa to Chicago was good, but the plane from Chicago to Des Moines was not on schedule… so my suitcase ‘just arrived’ here at the Condo because it missed the plane I came on… oh well… good thing I had a clean pair ‘of things’ here at the Condo !…

I DO wish YOU the best of the Holidays and the New Year… and will once again be enjoying the ‘Walking Woman’ stories… Hope to see you again also ‘one of these days’…Best of wishes and hugs… Jack L. ‘father of ‘the Pooker’ !
