Little Cat Feet

10 December 2017 – We’ve been having a week of fog, of fog swirling in and out, of fog playing with altitude & longitude & latitude.

It makes me remember the fogs of my long-ago winter in Lima, Perú, also on the Pacific coast.

And it makes me remember Fog — the Carl Sandberg poem taught us in an even longer-ago grade school English class.

The fog comes

on little cat feet.

It sits looking

over harbour and city

on silent haunches

and then moves on.

  1. We’ve been having it too – in the form of sea-mist. I remember the Sandburg from long ago too. Your photo is a wonderful fog-portrait.

As an aside, my niece’s husband has just been surfing on Lake Eyrie -10°! They’re exploiting all the joys of Guelph.

    • It really is a coastal phenomenon — at least, in this form. I am finding it so interesting, to experience climate in another region, affected by its very different topography.

  2. Love your photo’s depth.

  3. Love the photo! Makes me yearn for some fog to roll in now so I can go out and take my own photos!

    • Oh yes. As long as you have the luxury of being yourself warm, dry & not immobilized — and I had that luxury — the fog drifts are absolutely magical.
