/ 11 March 2020Understand… why I found it sad? I was reacting to the idea that this anonymous commentator had apparently defined a life as once stalwart, but now craven. Surely a sad change! Then again, the person might have just been playing with language…

/ 12 March 2020No, understand the last word. Stalwart is clear though not common. I had to look the last one. 🙂 Even less common. Almost literary.
So, yes, it is sad. Maybe s/he had a particular person in mind? We’ll never know.

/ 13 March 2020There’s lots of sadness around…and at least, if the message reflects reality for someone, they expressed it. maybe that made them feel better, in a small way. And I would certainly take heart in the vocabulary, wow. I doubt you would see words like those in graffiti in very many places.
