15 February 2021 – Snow, surprise-surprise; then rain, no-surprise; and always colour.
I think about Colour Blocking and then — the way it sometimes works out — the idea takes over.
So, eyes & mind, I go along for the ride, and make an afternoon of it.

“This design technique is all about showcasing curated combinations of colour,” says Google, adding that it arose during the modernist art movement of the 20th century.

Or, back here in my own real world…

I say “Finally” because, whatever human beings care to think, Mother Nature always has the last word.

/ 18 February 2021that two-tone moss was the first thing I noticed, then I backed up half a block to photograph the store window, and on I went from there…

/ 19 February 2021I imagined it happened the other way around as you presented it here (which was perfect). Isn’t it funny how the colors on the alley wall and the art store window match? 🙂

/ 23 February 2021I wanted the story arc to give nature the last word & walk chronology had no importance for purposes of that post. But! I could have started with the Mondrian, then shown the tree trunk & observed that Mother Nature was on to this colour blocking stuff eons before the 1920s smarty-pants came along… Fun, eh? Always more than one way to tell a story…

/ 23 February 2021Yes, it’s like a deck of cards that you could shuffle again and again; one day a certain order would work best, another day, a different order. 🙂 I heard on CBC that you had a beautiful day up there today – I was in the car listening on 88.1 as I often do, caught a tail end of Bonnie, etc. We had sun, clouds, rain, a little snow, and hail. Rather refreshing!
