26 July 2025 – Now you see it.
A giddy moment of creative anarchy,
in front of a well-regulated condo complex.

And now — hours later — you don’t!

Peace, order, and good behaviour have been re-established.

/ 27 July 2025Oh yes, absolutely. But the second photo is the planned arrangement — that’s why I had to celebrate the sight of someone seizing those stones and having some fun. (Even if briefly.)

/ 27 July 2025I always wonder if some anal retentive bypasser just can’t let things like this go, or perhaps it’s just an artist discarding a work to start over.

/ 27 July 2025The norm is what you see in the second photo: a stack of stones neatly contained within that rectangle, on the metal.(Why bother with any stones? Don’t know.) I was charmed to see that someone had pulled them out and created designs with them, and not surprised to see them put firmly back in place quite soon — probably by the building superintendent. That bit of freelance whimsy put me in mind of all the spontaneous art out Leslie Spit, where people regularly help themselves to the abundant latest clean-fill dump loads, and create sculptures. Which then get bulldozed for the next load of rubble. And new art created. And on it goes.
