3 August 2026 – A small murder.
Very small.
But crows they are…

and murder it is.

/ 3 August 2026Yes, the poor old crows stuck with the murder moniker. Interestingly, autocorrect kept trying to change “murder” to “mixer.” Given how intelligent they are, they definitely know how to mix things up! Cheers.

/ 5 August 2026Yet another reason to turn off autocorrect! though it produces some interesting swaps, as you’ve just demonstrated. I remember a program determined to change “golf” to “gold.” And I remember once dictating a speech I was writing to my computer rather than type it in; I said the new gold mine would have an “underground pouring facility”, and the program wrote it would have an “underground whoring facility.” I showed this to the execs for whom I was writing the speech, said it could be an additional revenue stream??? Being guys, they laughed their ears off and only regretted we had to switch back to the boring old facility in fact being built…

/ 4 August 2026I wonder who has seen a parliament of owls…they are such solitary creatures. Crows…not so much. And flip they are noisy.

/ 6 August 2026When I lived on a busy street in Scarborough a crow got hit. She was perhaps trying to grab some food that got tossed along with a wrapper from a car window. She had a mate who would gingerly land on road and tug at her wing. It was heart breaking.
In time, in the Ash tree on my front yard, a murder of crows came. They made the tree black there were so many of them, all cawing, their heads back as if gulping rain. One after another a car came by and made less and less of her body. It was a murder.
My neighbour heard the racket and came out on her porch and said, “I fucking hate crows.”

/ 9 August 2026They don’t have a bad press here – by & large, Vancouverites love their crows.
